IN WATCHMAKING, THE MOST DIFFICULT TO CRAFT BUT ALSO THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS AND TRADITIONAL COMPLICATIOn, IS THE TOURBILLON.

CONTEXT:

TAG Heuer, having reinterpreted the tourbillon (high frequency, magnetic regulation) pushes the boundaries of watchmaking, driving it with a belt, and placing it in an avant-garde timepiece: the Monaco V4.

THREE MESSAGES HAD TO BE ISSUED IN THE FILM:

  • The tourbillon is a prestigious piece already revisited by TAG Heuer.
  • TAG Heuer creates and assembles  the new belt driven tourbillon itself.
  • This traditional complication is integrated into an ultra modern watch, the Monaco V4T.

We chose to create a movie divided in two separated sequences :
the first part takes place in the manufacture and shows the process of the tourbillon assembling. The second part is a more dynamic immersion inside the watch itself.

The movie was shot during two days in TAG Heuer manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

STORY BOARD

The movie is structured with a geometric vocabulary. Using circles, horizontal and vertical lines, which brings an affirmed aesthetic to the film, a graphical language that supports the aesthetic character of the product itself.

MOOD BOARDS

The watchmaker is guided in his work by virtual interfaces that show him the inspiration of the tourbillon, gives him the various steps in the construction and finally serves as a control support to check the timekeeping performance.
We have designed this virtual tool and developed it to interact with the actions of the watchmaker.
