We chose to describe the creation of the dial, using the flower as a drawing instrument.
Blooming from a diamond, a flower moves on a mother of pearl surface, and leaves behind a trace, a drawing, which shows floral pattern of the dial. Once traced by the flower, the different elements of the dial are placed at their level and adorn themselves with their material: pearl, white gold, diamonds …
A central flower is used to indicate the hours while a flower browsing a winding path indicates the minutes.
Each element of the dial is disposed on a different level giving it a unusual depth.
Using mother of pearl and diamond setting in skeletonized forms, the Maison Chaumet demonstrates an exceptional expertise.
